QUICK POST- QUICK OUTFIT

Just a quick hello to all of you. I miss you, but am still in quite a hurry. I'm glad when this week has passed and I can enjoy the Easter holidays! I just threw this over in the morning, something feeling comfortable and appropriate for work too, it looks better with heels, but I think I will run some miles today so flats are the better choice. Yes, I still need to get used to the fact I can wear my heels again without sinking in the snow or the rain and I have some trouble to remember my "Summer" shoes, I need some time to "find" them again!

THE COAT ISSUE

I'm so sorry for neglecting my blog the last days, I worked the whole time at the new designs for Summer 2011 and the styles need to be finished by Wednesday! So I worked pretty much the whole weekend too, but this afternoon I had some time off to spend with my boyfriend and my dog! These days I had so many troubles with headache that I went straight to bed after work and even had to go early from work because the migraine. There was also a big fire in my hometown this week, it started during the night at a commercial area and some shops, a flat and an office are destroyed now as well through the fire water. Luckily nobody was hurt but everyone was quite shocked. It is really sad as the living of these people changed from one minute to another.

I checked today my Spring / Autumn Coats and found these great coats I barely wear. The reason? They are too long! (Yes, I am too short- I get it) So I decided to shorten them, what I avoided for so long as I was worried to ruin them, but not to wear them isn't a solution either...

a pretty nice dark blue trench coat with brown pipings inside...

and this amazing military coat I bought couple of years ago from one of my favorites Italian jeans&lifestyle labels: Gaudi (I love the name!) and as military is really big the next seasons I need this coat!
especially as I love this lining! The color is amazing, isn't it?

New The City trailer and I am really looking forward to this drama :-)

For what you can see Olivia looks perfectly great as usual and has her bitchy moments, Whitney needs to learn that fashion isn't only a glamorous industry (really big news! - lol) and there will be a lot of fights but everybody keeps their job or get a new one asap, so again no reality TV but a good comedian show... Will you follow this show? I will and only to see Kelly Cutrone kick someones a* and Olivias wardrobe.

LET THE SUNSHINE IN / NO.200

I really missed my Python skin flats, they are already couple of seasons old, resoled but still in their best shape! Welcome back my loves! Still need to be worn with socks but better than boots (sorry to my boots, but you had your time!)! This is my 200th entry! Can't believe it! Amazing time with you guys! Thank you a lot! I'll make a little giveaway soon (after my holidays, so I can bring you nice things from Italy!).

OBSESSION OF THE DAY

via

I could shop all day lately, seems Spring acivates my propensity to buy. I find great stuff almost every day and I really should stop looking through all the great online shops, especially net-a-porter.com- they really have the best (expensive) items! I found this great Fendi (I love Fendi) bracelet, I would love to buy. My obsession for jewelry is really strong lately! I am really looking forward to my Easter holidays to shop me through Italy, so I don't want to buy anything yet!
I also found this cute suede belt and I am thinking about making one myself. I will search for a nice simple suede belt and add a brooch or even for a soft leather skin to make the whole belt.
I have so many ideas lately, especially for accessories and I need to figure out how I can fit them into my work!

HAPPY WEEKEND

Friday night with my black shorts, flower silk blouse, black cardigan, my skull scarf, black coat, bag and pumps.

First we had dinner with couple of friends. We ate a lot of sushi, I forgot to take a picture and didn't want to show you an empty plate. Then we had couple of drinks at the Trader Vic's bar in Munich, they have really amazing drinks. I love their iced glass but it melts really quickly, so the guys had to hurry up! (their is an extra glass inside, now worries- and the drink is way to strong for me :-)!) How was your weekend so far?

WHERE IS MY MIND?

via
I'm in love with the Python Peep-toe Pumps of Alexander McQueen. Aren't these shoes adorable? Unfortunately, those are currently not in the budget -at all! (my parents both have their birthdays in April and I still don't know what to give!) But they would be so worth it! Especially the combination with the python skin makes my heart beat faster! Can you resist? Please go to net-a-porter and buy them, because when they are sold out I will feel a lot better. I hope...

ALICE

I watched Alice in Wonderland this weekend and I loved the movie! I don't want to bore you with details and reviews about the movie but I have to tell you, that I was fascinated by the costumes! Alice wore beautiful dresses and it was amazing how one dress changed due growing or shrinking. The costume designer of the movie is Colleen Atwood, she really did a fabulous work! Unfortenately I couldn't find pictures of other outfits, but I hope you already saw the movie or will see it, so you will understand what I mean.
Colleen has been nominated for an Oscar numerous times and won the Oscar for the movies Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha. She already worked several times with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Colleen has been involved with costumes on over 50 films.

Academy Awards and Nominations:

  • Nominated: Best Costume Design -Little Women(1994)
  • Nominated: Best Costume Design -Beloved(1998)
  • Nominated: Best Costume Design -Sleepy Hollow(1999)
  • Won: Best Costume Design -Chicago(2002)
  • Nominated: Best Costume Design, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events(2004)
  • Won: Best Costume Design -Memoirs of a Geisha(2006)
  • Nominated: Best Costume Design -Sweeney Todd(2007)
  • Nominated: Best Costume Design -Nine(2009)
Its really amazing, what great movies she designed the costumes for. I found a work illustration of Sweeney Todd. It looks great, right.

Sometimes I would love to work as a costume designer as well, I have some friends, who are styling for movies and TV (at the moment only for german ones) and I admire their work too.

So Ms Atwood, if you read this, please write me - I would love to work for you! ;-)

THE LAST COLLECTION

Just saw the pictures from the last collection of Alexander McQueen. The show was top-secret with only the most important people. The pictures are really breathtaking, it was all about the angels of Sandro Botticelli and the demons of Hieronymus Bosch. I don't know if angels and demons were really his inspiration or the press built that story, but perhaps he did put his personal conflicts into this collection, the loss of this genius is unbelievable.

time for pattern

I'm totally obsessed with indoor jackets or blazers, but in winter I felt better with a thick cashmere pullover or cardigan - but now its the right time to wear them again. Now I'm only waiting for the time to change boots for flats... Spring here we come...
