Back in Munich

I'm back in Munich and I comb through my closet what to wear at NYE?!
Anyways I had a lovely day today, I went cross country skiing with my dad and as yesterday night it rained the ski run were so icy we were slipping the whole way not so elegant and I tumbled and fell couple of times, but it was really fun and we were laughing so much.

Now to the night of the nights, the big NYE!
I will have dinner with couple of friends with yummie yummie food (fondue and wine!)
and then we will go out to a club in Munich.
What are your plans for new years eve? - practically a night like every night- I know!


the best of 2009? I would say the time with my boyfriend and that he didn't break my heart :-) and I met great new people and this blog...

The worst of 2009? A long friend of my grannie died - he was already a family member, my grand-aunt needed to move to a retirement home after a heart-attack, I lost and was forsaken by one of my best friends for no reason, I realized I'm not were I thought I would be and was afraid (and still am) to fail

my lessons for 2009? I need a lot more confidence and effort to get there where I want to be...

fashion lesson for 2009? I love silk blouses and fashion blogs are IN

best movie of 2009? new moon especially in the combination of my birthday and london

best song of 2009? I loved la roux!

best book of 2009? can't tell , there were so many and I started to love so many of your blogs, that reading new entries can be a lot better than a book

my 2009 "word"? don't call me crazy but I would say - its unbeweavable - never heard before and always in my mind!

most annoying word of 2009: swine flu

something I'm proud of in 2009? probably my guts for this blog

I did way to much shopping in 2009 and way to less sports and gym...

I'm excited for 2010 - I plan to make it my year!

My plans for 2010? a new great job, a new apartment and many many shoes and more sports, more time for my blog!

I have to admit there were many great movies but the one I was excited as hell

How was your weekend? Saturday I took a long walk through the city with my boyfriend and in the evening we went to dinner to friends, it was delicious with a lot of wine and good music, I acutally had couple more pictures but they won't upload...

The Devil wears Prada

I'm sorry I updated you so less last week, but it was kind a crazy and busy. There was so much work and bad news all around I wasn't really in good mood. I went to the eye specialist last week for a pre-treatment for my lasik but they had to tell me I'm not the ideal person for this procedure as my cornea isn't thick enough for an aftercare. I was pretty shocked... Especially as the chief physician was playing with his blackberry all the time and only his asisstant doctor (She was really good and nice but anyways) told me. He didn't realize me as an individual person, I was really angry as I did the appointement for a month just to get the treatment by himself as I know he is one of the best eye specialist in Munich. (I already went to see him a year ago and he made a really good impression) So the best treatment for me would be an implantation of a lens. I don't think I want to do this as everybody tells me I'm way to young for this and there can be a lot of side effects I don't want to risk. So I had to recover and ordered yesterday new glasses and in January I will order new contact lens even this is not the best solution as I get bad headache from the glasses and red eyes from the my contact lenses. But it is a solution for the next year(s) while I am searching for a good doctor and better lasik methods. (I heard of a better one in Cologne so I will not give up). And of course as the week wasn't bad enough I got a refusal from the Swiss Company I applied. What a week...

As I don't have much to tell you I uploaded some pictures from London as I promised anyways.
There is not much I'm up to lately as I have a lot of work and also do not feel to dress up. I wear a lot of jeans and my cashmere sweaters or pullover lately so this is also nothing special to show - very boring!!!
I sent an application for an opening to a fashion company in swiss and am waiting for an answer- I hate to wait!
I finished "twentieth girl" yesterday and I think it was really good even the story is very fanciful.
I also still need to shop all my presents for Christmas, even I have some good ideas though but I still need something for my mum. Any ideas?

happy belated 6th of december

How was your 6th of December?

We do celebrate this day in Germany. It is called Nikolaus-day after Saint Nicholas. Children put a boot called Nikolaus-Stiefel (Nikolaus boot) outside the front door on the night of December 5th to the 6th. St. Nicholas fills the boot with gifts and sweets. He checks if the children were good last year. If they were not, they will have a tree branch (Rute) in their boots instead. Younger children get also a visit from the "Nikolaus" and asks them if they have been good with a golden book. He is often accompanied by "Knecht Ruprecht" (Servant Ruprecht), who threatens the children for misbehavior.

Of course I don't get a visit from Nicolaus but we still give small presents and chocolate.

I also don't put my shoe outside but I have a nice decoration I put on my door :-)

gucci war from my dad, twentieth girl from my boyfriend and a gilara scarf and shoes from my mum. She brought the shoes from her trip to Italy and so these were more a souvenir present but I did put them in my sock :-)

HAPPY 1st of DECEMBER

What was in your advent calendar?

Mine was still empty today but I had a small one with chocolate too, so I was fine.
Do you also have the feeling it is the only time where we are allowed to eat chocolate before breakfast? But I have to admit that after 24 days I'm glad I don't need to eat chocolate every day... haha
Last year I had a calendar with kinder suprise eggs and can remember how I felt at the 24th - I think I never lost my pounds from those days hahaha

But I take the 1st of December to show you my christmas wishlist (the idea is from Betty who already showed her list) with all my unrealistic and pretty normal wishes...

First, I want new eyes, haha of course not new ones, but I have really terrible eyes and I wear glasses for 17 years and contact lenses since I am 13. The last months I really have problems with my contact lenses and get terrible red eyes every evening and as this whole case is really annoying I want laser eyes surgery. As this is really expensive I wish for Christmas and hope my health insurance company will support me! So I need to save my money and can not buy those wonderful items on my wishlist...

my not realistic wishes are the studded ankle boots from Valentino, Gabriele Frantzen necklace, (both via stylebop.com), the Balmain zip boots (via net-a-porter) and the Canon EOS 500D (via amazon.de)

next wishes are negotiable as they are expensive but affordable

Ugg grey boots - I never can have enough of Uggs, Ugg flats for home (both via stylebop.com) a wonderful DKNY bag which I would buy immediately if my health insurance company would pay the surgery and I didn't spend so much money in London :-) (via net-a-porter.com) and I also want to have a Tiffany's key necklace!

and now the wishes I will definitely get at least I think so...

books, books, books because I get every year about 5-8 books from my Dad- it is almost a tradition as I read a lot and especially in the holidays so I impress him then how quickly I finish them every year. After the 2 weeks holidays I had while attending school I had nothing to read anymore and it is still the same... This year I just wish for easy and funny things to read as I'm not in the mood for something special. So I wish for some Nicholas Sparks, Sophie Kinsella, Cecilia Ahern and my latest discovery: Gucci Wars
