Impressions/ Oktoberfest 09/ Wies'n

some impressions from the Oktoberfest in Munich,
I have to admit I felt like a tourist taking pictures, because I've probably never done pictures not with friends in a tent... haha
We spend most of the time celebrating in the tents but next Sunday we will walk through it and I will add more pictures...
At the moment I'm in Kitzbühel spending time with my family because of my grandmothers birthday, so enough for today and I hope you all had a nice weekend....

OZAPFT IS

In Munich starts the Oktoberfest today, very soon (probably now!!!). It will be opened by the mayor of Munich. It will take place 16 days then and this year I don't get up early to be at 8 am in front of the tents or have a table at 12 for the ceremony. I will go relaxed in a couple of hours. The weather is really cloudy and grey, not so nice for the first day :-( But anyways it will a lot of fun. My boyfriend is working this year at the Oktoberfest and he was really excited about it, so wish him luck! While I'm still getting dressed, he went at 7 am to the Oktoberfest. This is how I am looking before getting dressed, wearing my favortie citizen of humanity jeans and a pink shirt with a print made by myself a couple of years ago. It was my first print, I realized it in school. I still like it even skulls are out, I don't care...

I finished my headband in time and I think it is really cute and I like it a lot!
What do you think?

I braided my hair this morning, not the whole hair, only the sides.

and at the back I made a chignon...
I really like it.

Then I put on my headband, perhaps it is a bit to much with the braided hair and the headband, but it is Oktoberfest and I don't have any bling or many decoration on my dress, so I think it is okay and without breading my hair I wouldn't feel fully dressed :-)

to do

so much to do, I had not the time to see through those magazines...

and on Saturday in Munich starts the Oktoberfest and I still want to do some accessories and a "dirndl" but the dirndl I want to do since 2 years haha, so I hope I can finish my "trachten" headband at least in time ...

NY Fashion Week

I had a lot to catch up the last days and a lot to watch from the NY Fashion Week, and because so many blogs are writing about the shows I don't want to bore you with "old information". But yesterday one of my favorite designers showed the spring summer collection. I love the style of Milly by designer Michelle Smith. It is cute, feminin, sophisticated, modern. I love the colors and graphics.

back from my holidays

so I'm back from Italy, I had a wonderful sunny time and now I'm freezing in good old Munich. Why is it so cold! I already watched the new episode of Gossip Girl Season 3 and absolutely loved it...
And I found in my mail the Vogue Oktober Germany Anniversary Issue with Peter Lindbergh. I had not the time to read it yet, it has 730 sheets... woohoo!

HOLIDAYS - LOTTERY

I will be in my holidays til the 15th of September. I'm going to Italy, to the Lago di Garda with my family, dog and boyfriend. So I hope when I come back you will still read my blog and hopefully I will win new readers as well. The short time I am blogging now was really a pleasure and I enjoyed it, I think this is a good balance beside my work...
Because I dont want you to forget my blog I will start a little lottery today. The winner will get a Vogue Italia July Edition with the barbie issue - all new and not used - and a current magazine from Italy. I want to know what is your favorite magazine, why and how do you read it. You can picture yourself with the magazine, write about it, sketch it... what ever you want....
Then you can send it to my email fashiontowear@gmail.com or post the link to your post on your blog as a comment under this post. I will then name the winner when I come back.

I love when online shopping deliveries arrive, It's like a gift and mostly exact what I wanted... Mostly! But do you know the feeling when you wait and wait and wait and nothing happens...
I ordered my new blackberry last week (my old BB is a already 2 1/2 years old and has some issues...) and normaly it should arrive within 48 hours. I ordered it to my office to be sure to get it in time. Monday morning the people from the delivery service in Munich left me a voice mail they wouldn't have the number from the house, as I called back they told me they already found the address. Today I checked my transport number online and was very suprised as it told me "going back to the point of origin! "(Me thinking: WTF? Are you kidding me)" Of course I called the hotline, they told me they don't know exactly why but it was left 2 days in the storage and then went back... But why exactly they can not see... "(Me: What???)" So I called my cell service but they had not received the parcel yet and I need to wait till they get it back and write me a message. (I will be in my holidays next week) So I need to wait til I get back from my holidays to call them for sending me my cell again, means I will get the damn cell in about 14 days. "(Me: So annoying!)" I was so angry that I called the number back which called me Monday and asked why the parcel wasn't delivered. The guy also couldn't tell me and had no clue how this happened. "(Me: living in a world where no one take responsibility)" But he will check with the driver... I actually don't like my new cell already... So this is my bad experience waiting for deliveries with anticipations. What for experiences do you have with online shopping and deliveries?

Munich Fabric Start

Today I visited another fair - the Munich Fabric Start -

a big fair about fabrics, buttons, embroideries...

I like this fair, it is always nice decorated and you can cut yarns and see forecasts for the next season. This fair was for the Winter 2010/ 2011 season. We ordered some fabrics and buttons.
Here are some colors for the next Winter...

One of my favorite color was "blue spa" a pale blue as well as "peel" a soft rose beige, also "lilac scent" and pearl grey (not shown in the pictures) a light grey with a purple touch. For the darker shades I liked all the dark greys as "Twilight" and Titanium" as well as the dark blue "ink".

It was not allowed to take pictures and in the hall and all the people made it a bit difficult...

- so most of the pictures are from the entrance hall.

But in one hall, there was an own organic section, shown with fabrics from different companies producing organic fabrics. I think this is very important for the future.
